Flexible hours, part-time contracts and the latest wireless technology: thanks to the wonders of flexible working, businesses have learned that chaining employees to their desks no longer gets the job done.

A recent British government survey showed that almost all workplaces offer some form of flexible working - and for good reason. The figures suggest that introducing policies like these could save British employers around £43 million per year by keeping workers loyal and cutting out recruitment costs.

But the picture is different across Europe with separate research revealing that Britain still lags behind much of the continent when it comes to providing the best working conditions to get the best from their staff.

Strong strategies for flexible working should improve productivity and certainly do not involve allowing your staff to turn up when they want, surf the Internet all day, or take long luxurious lunches.

The trick is to boost morale by helping your team to work smarter, and it doesn't take drastic changes to make a big difference.

So if you want to see an improvement in efficiency, productivity and staff retention, post your questions to our webchat panelists and ask the experts how to get flexible working just right for your workplace.
